theglobalsun – Swansea City winger Zeidane Inoussa has joined Polish top-flight club Gornik Zabrze on loan for the remainder of the season. The move gives the 24-year-old another opportunity to secure regular first-team football after falling out of Swansea’s EFL squad.
Inoussa was omitted from Swansea’s squad list following the recent transfer window. The decision left the winger facing limited opportunities at the Championship club during the remainder of the campaign.
The Sweden Under-21 international had been expected to leave Swansea before the loan move was confirmed. He came close to joining Portsmouth on English football’s transfer deadline day earlier this month.

A move to Portsmouth ultimately failed to materialise, while Croatian club Osijek also emerged as a potential destination. Inoussa will instead continue his career with Gornik Zabrze in Poland’s top division.
Swansea remain committed to the winger despite his temporary departure. Inoussa has a contract with the Welsh club until 2030, while Swansea also have an option to recall him during the January transfer window.
Swansea head coach Vitor Matos believes regular football can help Inoussa regain his consistency. The manager also praised the winger’s character and professionalism ahead of his move to Poland.
“We hope he makes an impact [at Gornik Zabrze],” Matos said. “He’s a wonderful kid, a really good professional. He just needs game-time and consistency in playing.”
Inoussa Looks to Rebuild Momentum in Poland
Matos added that regular appearances should benefit both Inoussa and Swansea. The Swansea head coach believes the loan provides the playing opportunities the winger needs at this stage of his career.
“I think that’s what he wants as well so it’s a good option in terms of finding that,” Matos said. “We are here for him and hopefully everything goes right.”
Swansea paid a significant fee to sign Inoussa from BK Hacken during the summer of 2025. The club viewed the former Sweden Under-21 international as a player capable of contributing to its Championship campaign.
However, Inoussa struggled to establish himself as a regular performer after arriving in Wales. He made 29 appearances across all competitions last season but scored only once.
His progress was also disrupted by a back injury during the second half of the campaign. A stress fracture in his back ruled him out from January onwards, limiting his opportunities to build momentum.
The winger returned to Swansea with another chance to compete for a place this season. However, his omission from the EFL squad ultimately forced the club and player to consider another solution.

The move to Gornik Zabrze now gives Inoussa the chance to play regularly in a different environment. Swansea will hope that consistent minutes can help him regain his fitness, confidence, and form.
With his long-term contract still running until 2030, the loan does not represent the end of Inoussa’s Swansea career. The club can also recall him in January if his situation changes.
For now, both player and club will be focused on making the Polish loan successful. Regular playing time could provide Inoussa with the platform needed to return to Swansea in stronger condition.
