Wood began his development in the Hull City academy before moving into senior football. He has since gained experience with several clubs during his professional career. His previous teams include Scunthorpe United, Grimsby Town and Shelbourne. The midfielder’s time in England also includes loan spells in the English Football League.
Wood spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Scunthorpe United. He later joined Grimsby Town on loan in 2024. Those spells gave him valuable experience in the EFL before he continued his career with Shelbourne. His latest performances in Ireland have now earned him a return to English football with Stockport.
The midfielder has also gained experience in European competition during his time with Shelbourne. He played in qualifying matches for the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.
