Arsenal Reach Verbal Agreement for Christos Tzolis

Arsenal have agreed in principle with Club Brugge to sign Tzolis in a transfer valued at €40 million (£33.9 million).

Once the formal offer is accepted, the 24-year-old Greece international will undergo a medical before signing a long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium.

Sporting director Andrea Berta has led Arsenal’s pursuit of the winger. While assistant sporting director Maurizio Micheli played a key scouting role after watching Tzolis represent Greece against Sweden last month.

The versatile attacker has impressed with his performances for both club and country. Convincing Arsenal that he can strengthen their options in the final third ahead of the new campaign.

Gunners Still Target Another Elite Forward

Despite nearing an agreement for Tzolis, Arsenal remain committed to signing at least one high-profile attacker before the transfer window closes.

The club continues to view Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez as its primary long-term target. However, Arsenal expect a difficult battle to sign the Argentina international. With both Barcelona and Real Madrid also monitoring his situation.

Arsenal are also preparing to intensify their pursuit of Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers once he completes his World Cup campaign with England.

The club views the 24-year-old as its preferred option for a versatile attacking role. Although Aston Villa reportedly want around £130 million for his transfer.

Should negotiations with Aston Villa fail to produce an agreement. Arsenal will turn to Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as their leading alternative.

Arsenal therefore consider the move for Tzolis separate from the club’s plans to recruit another marquee attacker. Reflecting their ambition to strengthen multiple areas of the forward line ahead of a season in which they will again compete for major domestic and European honours.

If the club completes the remaining formalities as expected. Tzolis will become Arsenal’s latest signing as Mikel Arteta continues to build a squad capable of challenging for silverware on multiple fronts.
