theglobalsun – Norwich City have strengthened their squad with the signing of winger Andre Brooks from Championship rivals Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old Jamaica international has signed a five-year contract, becoming the Canaries’ second arrival of the summer transfer window.
Brooks joins Norwich after spending his entire youth and early senior career at Sheffield United. The winger progressed through the Blades’ academy after joining the club at the age of eight before establishing himself in the first team.
The move continues Norwich’s summer recruitment under head coach Philippe Clement. Who is looking to build on the club’s strong finish to last season.
Brooks follows Brazilian defender Bruno Alves, who arrived on loan last week. As Norwich continue to strengthen ahead of the new Championship campaign.
The young winger arrives with valuable Championship experience despite still having significant room for development.
During his time at Sheffield United, Brooks made 96 senior appearances across all competitions. Scoring nine goals and earning international recognition with Jamaica.
Brooks Inspired by Clement’s Ambitions
Speaking after completing the move, Brooks explained that conversations with Philippe Clement and the coaching staff played a major role in his decision to join Norwich City.
“Speaking to the gaffer and all of the staff, their ambitions and goals for the season really appealed to me,” Brooks told the club’s official website.
The winger also believes his versatility will suit Clement’s tactical approach.
“As a winger, I think the head coach will want me to play on both sides, attack and defend. And I feel like I’m the perfect man for that. I’m just going to try to help him and the team as much as I can.”
His ability to operate on either flank and contribute in both attacking and defensive situations is expected to provide Norwich with greater flexibility throughout the season.
At just 22 years of age, Brooks also represents a long-term investment for the club as they continue building a young and competitive squad.
Canaries Continue Building for Promotion Push
Norwich narrowly missed out on the Championship play-off places last season after finishing ninth. Ending the campaign eight points behind the top six.
The final league position marked an impressive turnaround after the Canaries found themselves third from bottom at the beginning of 2026.
Under Philippe Clement, the team produced a strong second half of the campaign. Giving supporters optimism heading into the new season.
The additions of Bruno Alves and Andre Brooks demonstrate Norwich’s determination to strengthen key areas of the squad as they target a return to the Premier League.
Brooks will now look to establish himself quickly at Carrow Road and make an immediate impact in Norwich’s attacking lineup.
With a five-year contract now secured. Both player and club will hope the move proves to be a successful long-term partnership as the Canaries pursue promotion back to English football’s top flight.
