theglobalsun – Greek club Panathinaikos have signed Watford midfielder Imran Louza for a fee of around £7m. The 27-year-old has agreed to a four-year contract with the Greek side.
Louza leaves Watford after producing an impressive campaign in the Championship last season. He scored seven goals and provided nine assists across 42 league appearances.
His performances established him as one of the Championship’s leading midfielders. His creativity and attacking contributions made him an important player in Watford’s midfield.

Louza had also served as Watford captain before the start of the current campaign. New head coach Alessio Dionisi instead appointed centre-back Mattie Pollock as skipper.
The midfielder did not make a competitive appearance for Watford this season. His only recent outing came during a pre-season friendly against Fiorentina last month.
Louza played 20 minutes in that match before completing his move away from the club. Panathinaikos eventually secured his services for a fee in the region of £7m.
The transfer ends Louza’s time at Watford after several seasons with the club. He initially joined the Hornets from French side Nantes in the summer of 2021.
Louza temporarily returned to France during the 2023-24 season. He joined Lorient on loan in January 2024 and spent five months with the club.
The midfielder returned to Watford during the summer of 2024. He subsequently became an important part of the club’s midfield during the following two seasons.
Louza made 81 appearances across those two campaigns. His consistency helped him establish himself as one of Watford’s key creative players.
