Wilson arrives with solid experience, having made 85 appearances during two seasons at Derby County. Before joining the Rams, he played for Bristol City. The full-back’s move reunites him with manager Paul Warne, under whom he previously played at Derby. According to Wilson, the chance to work with Warne again played a major role in his decision.

“He [Warne] is one of a kind. He makes me laugh,” Wilson said. “When we spoke on the phone, he was so positive about the club; it was one of those things that was just right for me and my family. I just really wanted to be involved.” The transfer strengthens MK Dons’ defensive options as they look to compete in the upcoming 2025/26 season. Wilson’s versatility and attacking drive make him a valuable asset for Warne’s tactical plans.

Wilson Aims to Bring Excitement and Energy to MK Dons

Kane Wilson brings a dynamic playing style to MK Dons, with a focus on offensive support from the wing-back position. Speaking about his role, Wilson emphasized his desire to contribute both defensively and offensively.

“Some of my best attributes are going forward, which the gaffer loves,” Wilson said. “I just try and excite the fans, to be honest. I love running at players, dribbling, and if I can contribute to clean sheets and creating chances, then hopefully I’ll have a good rapport with the fans!”

Wilson began his professional career at West Bromwich Albion and spent time on loan at Exeter City, Tranmere Rovers, and Walsall before a permanent move to Forest Green Rovers in 2020. His career has been marked by steady development and a commitment to improving in both attack and defense.

With MK Dons aiming to push for promotion, Wilson’s arrival comes at a crucial time. His energy, experience, and attacking flair align well with Paul Warne’s vision for a high-intensity, attacking team. As the squad takes shape, Wilson’s impact will likely be measured not just in defensive solidity but in his ability to drive play forward from wide areas. MK Dons supporters can expect an entertaining addition to the team, and if Wilson hits form quickly, he could become a fan favorite at Stadium MK.
