theglobalsun – West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of midfielder Toby Collyer from Manchester United.
The 22-year-old midfielder has signed a four-year contract with the Championship club. Collyer already has experience at The Hawthorns after spending the first half of last season on loan.

He made 12 Championship appearances for Albion before leaving to join Hull City. The midfielder subsequently helped Hull City secure promotion to the Premier League.
His permanent return makes Collyer West Brom’s ninth summer signing of the current transfer window. The club has also added Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Conor Townsend to its squad during the summer.
Collyer will now look to build on his previous Championship experience with West Brom.
The midfielder also made 13 appearances for Manchester United across all competitions during the 2024-25 season. His competitive debut for United came against Liverpool in September 2024.
Manchester United suffered a 3-0 home defeat in that match at Old Trafford. The appearance marked an important step in Collyer’s development after progressing through the club’s system.
His move to West Brom now gives him another opportunity to establish himself at senior level.
Collyer Reveals Why He Chose To Return To West Brom
Collyer said several factors influenced his decision to return to West Brom on a permanent deal. The midfielder highlighted the club’s size and his positive experience during his previous loan spell.
“There were a few reasons why I was so keen to return,” Collyer told Albion’s website. “The size of the club is one of them. I also really enjoyed my time here on loan.”
Collyer also praised manager James Morrison for playing an important role in his decision. Morrison was reportedly eager to bring the midfielder back after his initial spell at The Hawthorns.
“Another reason was the manager, James Morrison,” Collyer said. “He was really keen to have me back and that’s all you want in football.”
The midfielder’s comments underline the importance of receiving confidence from the manager at his new club.
Collyer already understands West Brom’s environment after spending several months with the club last season. That familiarity could help him settle quickly as he begins his permanent spell with Albion.
