Newcastle United confirmed the signing of McLauchlan from Brighton, although the clubs did not disclose the transfer fee involved.

The 29-year-old spent the past two seasons with Brighton in the Women’s Super League, making 51 appearances across all competitions. During her time with the Seagulls, she also featured in this year’s FA Cup final. Where Brighton finished as runners-up to Manchester City.

Before moving to England, McLauchlan established herself as one of Scotland’s most successful defenders. She won five Scottish Women’s Premier League titles and lifted four Scottish Cups while representing Rangers, Glasgow City, and Hibernian.

Her achievements at club level are matched by her international experience. McLauchlan has made 35 appearances for the Scotland national team. Providing Newcastle with a player accustomed to competing at the highest level.
